FAQ

What are the qualifications for membership?

  1. You must be a graduate of an accredited university, college, or high school.
  2. You must have graduated with a perfect GPA.
  3. You must not have been convicted of a felony crime.
  4. You must submit all the documents/items requested as detailed Requirements for Membership & Application Process.

What are the Requirements for Membership and the Application Process

You must submit the following items:

  • Two Letters of Nomination (using the Official Nomination Form) from someone (an adult, different from someone recommending you) familiar with your academic accomplishments or record. Please use the form we have provided!
  • Three Letters of Recommendation— preferably from your principal, Vice Principal, Department Chairperson, Dean, Vice President of Academic Affairs/Provost, or Principal—attesting to your character and other accomplishments and recommending you for membership and induction in the AHOF. The letter should not exceed 2 pages in length. Please attach the Recommendation Letter Cover Sheet.
  • A completed ACADEMIC HALL OF FAME Verification Form certifying that you graduated with a perfect Grade Point Average. This form must be signed, stamped, and sealed by the appropriate agent of your school. The completed form may be submitted by your school or by you. You may download this form, complete Parts I and II yourself, and request your school to complete Part III. Mail the completed form along with the other requested documents directly to the address shown in the Academic Hall of Fame Verification Form.
  • A sealed copy of your official final School transcript addressed to AHOF. Mail the sealed transcript, with the other requested documents directly to the address shown on the Academic Hall of Fame Verification Form.
  • A notarized Copy of your GAMMA HONORS membership Certificate. The notary stamp could be placed on the back side of the Certificate. Mail it, together with the other requested documents directly to the address shown in the Academic Hall of Fame Verification Form.
  • A completed, online, ACADEMIC HALL OF FAME APPLICATION, including/ attaching an electronic version of (1) your Biographical Sketch, (2) your Full Biography, (3) your Hall of Fame Speech Video, (4) your Hall of Fame Essay, (5) A pdf file of your GAMMA HONORS membership Certificate, (6) a passport-size color photo – headshot only! (180 X 180 pixes) and (7) Submit a one time membership fee of $250 (US).
  • On a CD, saved as separate files (1) a copy of your Biographical Sketch, (2) a copy of your Full Biography, (3) Your Hall of Fame Speech Video, (4) Your Hall of Fame Essay, (5) A pdf file of your GAMMA HONORS membership Certificate, (6) a passport-size color photo-heads only! (180 X 180 pixes) and (7) Submit a pdf copy of your Payment Receipt.

Where do I mail my application package?
Submit all the membership documents/items requested together, in a large envelope and mailed to the address listed below. We suggest using the P.O. Box Address.

Who is an Academic Hall of Fame Member (or an ‘Academic Hall of Famer’)?
An Academic Hall of Fame Member or an ‘Academic Hall of Famer’ is one who graduated with a perfect GPA from an accredited university, college, or high school, who has not been convicted of a felony, and has met all the other requirements for membership as specified by AHOF, and has received an official letter from the Academic Hall of Fame confirming membership.

How do I know if I have qualified to become a Member of the Academic Hall of fame?
Members will be officially notified by e-mail and/or post confirming their admission. They will also receive a Certificate of Membership. The names of members will be published according to the Category in which they qualify.

Can I be inducted or admitted into more than one membership category in the same year?
Generally, no, except in the rare case of an applicant who graduated in more than one membership category in the same year.

If I were inducted or admitted into membership in HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA category, can I qualify in another category if I subsequently attended and graduated with an Associate degree or with a Bachelor’s degree?
Yes.

If I were inducted or admitted into the Hall of Fame in ASSOCIATE DEGREE category, can I qualify for membership in the BACHELOR’S DEGREE category if I subsequently attended a four – year college or university at which I completed additional years (e.g., 1 or 2) and earned a Bachelor’s degree?
No. To qualify for membership in the four-year College and University category, you must start and complete your studies at a four-year college or university or complete 90% or more of the Bachelor’s degree coursework at a four-year college or university.

What information will be published about me?
The type and scope of information published about you depends on whether you are applying for membership/induction into the Academic Hall of Fame Doctoral, Master’s, Bachelor’s, Associate, or High School category. Information published will generally include some or all the information profiled in your biographical sketch.

Your name and the category and level/category you qualify for will be listed along with other information pertinent to your accomplishments, including but not limited to the following:

  • Doctorate, Master’s, Bachelor’s, and Associate Degree categories: your name, hometown/city, state, and country; your university or college and its city, state, country; degree earned and major or field of specialization or concentration (e. g., A.S. Accounting, BA English, BSC Nursing); graduation year.
  • High School Diploma category: your name, hometown/city, state, country; high school name and its city, state, country; diploma earned (e. g., High School Diploma); graduation year.

If I graduated several years ago, prior to the formation of the Academic Hall of Fame, can I become a member?
Yes.

If I graduated several years ago prior to the formation of the Academic Hall of Fame, will my name also appear in the publication The Academic Hall of Famer: The Best of the Best in Academics?
Yes.

Will I have to pledge or be formally inducted to become a member?
No

Will there be an induction or pledging ceremony?
Not currently. Soon, however, there will be a formal induction exercise/ceremony. When that process is in place, all members, present and past, will be notified and invited.

What happens after the application package is received?
It is reviewed for completeness. If it is complete, a letter of conditional/preliminary acceptance is sent to you requiring you to proceed to the Final Process.

What is the approved format for citing membership on one’s resume?
The following are the only approved formats. It is important for members to adhere to these formats.

  • Lifetime Member, Academic Hall of Fame (Best of the Best in Academics); Doctoral Degree Inductee, Class of [year of membership/induction]
  • Lifetime Member, Academic Hall of Fame (Best of the Best in Academics); Master’s Degree Inductee, Class of [year of membership/induction]
  • Lifetime Member, Academic Hall of Fame (Best of the Best in Academics); Bachelor’s Degree Inductee, Class of [year of membership/induction]
  • Lifetime Member, Academic Hall of Fame (Best of the Best in Academics); Associate Degree Inductee, Class of [year of membership/induction]
  • Lifetime Member, Academic Hall of Fame (Best of the Best in Academics); High School Diploma Inductee, Class of [year of membership/induction]

What publication will I be profiled?
When published, you will be profiled in one of the following publications

  • The Academic Hall of Famer: The Best of the Best in Academics. DOCTORAL DEGREE INDUCTEES. Class of (e. g., 2019)
  • The Academic Hall of Famer: The Best of the Best in Academics. MASTER’S DEGREE INDUCTEES. Class of (e. g., 2019)
  • The Academic Hall of Famer: The Best of the Best in Academics. BACHELOR’S DEGREE INDUCTEES. Class of (e. g., 2019)
  • The Academic Hall of Famer: The Best of the Best in Academics. ASSOCIATE DEGREE INDUCTEES. Class of (e. g., 2019)
  • The Academic Hall of Famer: The Best of the Best in Academics. HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA INDUCTEES. Class of (e. g., 2019)

Note: All the Academic Hall of Famer: The Best of the Best in Academics books may be published in multiple volumes at the discretion of the publisher. In the event an edition is published in multiple volumes, a member’s name will appear in one volume only.
